Shreveport police are trying to identify and catch the man who robbed a west Shreveport dollar store last night. A witness to the Family Dollar robbery in the 3800 block of Linwood Avenue tells police a male suspect entered the store and bought a pack of gum. As the clerk was opening the register, the man allegedly reached into a tote back and raised it up as if he had a weapon inside it. He demanded money, got an unknown amount of cash and took off on foot. No one was hurt. The suspect is described as a dark-complexioned black male with a slim build -- and was reportedly wearing a blue dress and a red wig at the time of the heist. Police are working to recover surveillance video from the business. If you can help them out in the meantime, call detectives or Crime Stoppers.
