Police Seek Info On Early Morning Bank Robbery
A bank on Mansfield Road was robbed by an unknown suspect. Police and Crimestoppers are seeking the help of the public to bring the thief to justice.
Public Information Officer Marcus Hines Released this statement:
"Shreveport Police detectives are seeking the identity and whereabouts of a suspect who robbed a west Shreveport bank Thursday morning.
Shortly after 9:30 a.m. on February 13, 2020, Shreveport Police patrol officers arrived at the Bancorp South bank in the 9200 block of Mansfield Road relative to an armed robbery. Upon officer’s arrival, contact was made with employees inside the bank who advised a male suspect entered the business dressed in green colored pants, a grey jacket, gloves and a black facemask. The man approached a line teller and demanded the employee hand over cash.
Upon receiving an undisclosed amount of loot, the suspect fled from the bank on foot. Patrol officers set up a perimeter around the business and made efforts to track to fleeing felon. The suspect was able to elude officers; however, authorities were able to recover portions of the stolen funds nearby. Shreveport Police Robbery Detectives are reviewing footage from the heist in hopes of identifying the suspect.
