[UPDATE]  Please be advised the juvenile has been located safely at a home in west Shreveport.

[ORIGINAL STORY]  Shreveport police need help finding a missing juvenile. Ten-year-old Makaylah Haywood was reported missing by her family yesterday, after she didn't return home from her school's bus stop.

She reportedly got off the bus at 3:40 p.m. on Barrett Street near the Wilkinson Terrace Apartments, where she lives. She could be seen on the apartment complex's surveillance system running northbound on the sidewalk toward Barrett Elementary School, while a juvenile male rides a bicycle behind her.

Haywood is then seen approaching the intersection of Barrett and Wilkinson, when the camera shows a white four-door sedan pull up and stop. The girl is last seen approaching the direction of the vehicle, but it's unknown if she got inside it. The sedan, however, is captured on camera speeding off down Barrett toward Kings Highway.

Haywood is 4'10" and 90 pounds. She was last seen wearing a blue polo-style shirt, khaki Capri pants and black L.A. Gear shoes. She was also wearing glasses and carrying a Hello Kitty backpack.

If you have any information that can help locate Makaylah, call Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers at 673-7373, or submit a tip online.
