The Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigation Division and the Springhill Police Department have arrested a reserve officer with the Springhill Police Department for malfeasance in office.

On November 9, 2011, the Springhill Police Chief, Will Lynd, contacted Louisiana State Police Region 2 Detectives and requested a joint investigation on an allegation of improper conduct on the part of a Springhill Police Department Reserve Officer.

The investigation revealed that on October 14, 2011, Springhill Reserve Police Officer Charles Blanks reportedly had sexual relations with a female prisoner while transporting the female to the Webster Parish prison.

On November 14, 2011 LSP Detectives and the Springhill Police Department arrested Blanks and he was booked at the Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center for malfeasance in office.  Blanks was released from the correctional center after posting a $2,000 bond.  The Times is reporting that Blanks has been fired from the force.

Blanks is a pastor at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Springhill.
