Strong storms have caused some major problems around the ARK-LA-TEX. Overnight storms have knocked out power to thousands in the area.

According to SWEPCO, at its peak, over nine thousand people were without power. While service has been restored to many, there are still a lot of areas experiencing outages. You can see what areas are still without power here.

Officials warn that due to the heavy rainfall, some areas may be flooded or be inundated with high water. So, they want residents to use extreme caution while driving around today throughout the day.

Now, many locals are worried about how the weather could potentially effect this afternoon's Walk-On's Independence Bowl. Well, according to all the experts, rain and thunderstorms should start tapering off between 9 and 10, right around the time the Coca Cola Fan Fest Kicksoff. Sunny skies are expected by to prevail by half time.
