It took over three weeks to collect, sort, wrap, and bag all of the toys for this year's Operation Santa Claus program.

But it will only take two days to deliver those toys to about 1000 needy children in Shreveport and Bossier Parish.  Bossier Parish sheriff's deputies picked up their toys yesterday and distributed them today.  Shreveport police and firefighters started picking up and distributing their toys today.

Earlier this year, Shreveport police officers and firefighters and Bossier deputies began nominating children for Operation Santa Claus.  These are children the first responders see every day in their line of work -- children they know won't have much of a Christmas without some help.  And you, our listeners, came through with that help.  Thank you for making this year's Operation Santa Claus a success.
