One Person Found Dead in Shreveport House Fire

Shreveport Firefighters were called to the 10000 Block of Los Altos Dr at 5:15 am on April 11, 2024, for a report of a 2-story town house on fire.

Shreveport Fire Department crews were on scene at 5:20 am and found smoke and flames coming from the home. Bystanders at the scene reported to firefighters that a victim was still inside the home.

SFD firefighters began search and rescue operations while simultaneously extinguishing the fire. One deceased victim was discovered on the first floor. Over twenty fire units from SFD’s Battalions 4 and 5 brought this fire under control within 25 minutes.

Shreveport Fire Investigations Division and the Shreveport Police Department are on the scene and investigating this incident. The cause of this fire remains under investigation.
