Lashell Crawford, who was fired from the Shreveport Police for allegedly helping a murder suspect avoid arrest wants her job back. Crawford will be is going before the Civil Service Board August 8th to try and be reinstated.

Crawford was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact to second degree murder in connection with a January 29th shooting that left one man dead and another wounded.

According to affidavits, Crawford texted the suspect Jacorey Wesley over 50 times with information about the investigation that helped him avoid arrest. Transcripts of the messages filed in Caddo District Court show that conversation started with concern he'd gotten shot but before it was over, Crawford was relaying information about the police investigation.

The mother of the victim, Gladys Fisher, is upset at even the prospect of Crawford getting her job back. She told KTBS, "She got nerve. A lot of nerve. I was like, really? Are you joking? They gonna listen to all that? That shouldn't be justified to hold a conversation on."
