NRA: White House Open Discussion Was a ‘Dirty Lie’
In an email sent out today signed by Wayne LaPierre, the NRA called the alleged "open discussion" meeting with gun safety groups Vice President Joe Biden held at the White House a "dirty lie."
According to the Wall Street Journal, "Mr. Biden met Wednesday with gun-safety advocacy groups, as well as victims and survivors of shootings. He also made calls to governors, mayors and other local officials" but that does't cut it for the NRA.
In their e-mail, they propose that he didn't listen to gun owners' concerns or consider any real solutions on how we can keep our kids safe.
Instead, the NRA says that "Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and their gun ban allies in Congress only want to BLAME you, VILIFY you, BULLY you, and STRIP you of your Second Amendment freedoms." They went so far as to say that not only is the Obama administration threatening the Second Amendment, but to say that its threatening lives.

The NRA homepage today goes on to claim President Obama an elitist hypocrite because "he demands the wealthy pay for their fare share of taxes but is a hypocrite when it comes to a fair share of security. Protection for their kids, gun free zones for ours."
Another gun rights advocacy group, Gun Owners of America, wasn't invited.
Mike Hammond, legislative counsel for Gun Owners of America, said he didn't expect the meeting with gun-rights groups to be constructive. "They are being summoned" and will be "lectured."
