Costco Announces 6 New US Locations~ Is Louisiana on the List?

There have been many discussions about different stores, restaurants, and businesses we'd like to see in the Arklatex. More specifically, in Shreveport-Bossier. We used to have multiple Schlotzsky's locations between Shreveport and Bossier, now we don't even have one. And that one I really don't understand when they are in much smaller markets not far away like Marshall, Lindale, and Kilgore.  But Shreveport Bossier can't get one?

How Many Costco's Are There in Louisiana, and Where Are They?

Another business a lot of people would love to see here is Costco.  Louisiana does have 4 Costco locations, but nothing above Lafayette.  Doesn't anyone realize there's more to Louisiana than just I-10?  There is one in New Orleans, one in Covington, one in Lafayette, and one in Baton Rouge.

Costco's Plans to Open 9 New Locations This Spring

So when I saw that Costco is opening 6 new locations across the US opening this March, surely we'll now be getting an alternative to Sam's Club. Which isn't bad, but c'mon. According to the Costco website, here are the 9 new locations they plan to open throughout the spring of 2025.

• Brentwood, CA-  March 2025

• Genesee County, MI- March 2025

• Highland, CA- March 2025

• Prosper, TX- March 2025

• Sharon, MA- March 2025

• Weatherford, TX- March 2025

• Stuart, FL- April 2025

• Minami Alps, JP- April 2025

• Ardeer, AU- 2025

As of September of 2024, Costco has 890 warehouse locations worldwide, with 616 in the US... but we can't get one in Shreveport.  And with 9 new locations opening this spring, still nothing new in Louisiana.  The closest new Costco will be in Weatherford, TX., which is west of Fort Worth.  Doesn't do us any good.
