Natchitoches Police Investigating Murder of 16 Year-Old

The Natchitoches Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Tuesday afternoon in the 400 block of Fairgrounds Road.

On August 15, 2023 around 3:01 p.m., officers with the Natchitoches Police Department were dispatched to the 400 block of Fairgrounds Road in reference to an individual being shot. Upon officers arrival they located the 16 year old victim suffering from a single gunshot wound.

The juvenile victim was transported to the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center where he later died as a result of his injuries.

This investigation is ongoing and the Natchitoches Police Department will release more details as they become available.
