The Shreveport Mudbugs celebrated winning the North American Hockey League and the Robertson cup last week, and now they have another celebration on the way.

The 2021 NHL Entry Draft will take place on Friday July 23rd and Saturday July 24th at the NHL Network Studios. During the draft, a member of this season's Championship Mudbugs team will hear their name called. But the big questions are when, and to what franchise?

We're talking about Shreveport Mudbugs goalie Aresniy Sergeev (some teams spell his last name Sergeyev), who won 14 games for the Mudbugs this year. Sergeev won the NAHL South Division Star of the Week twice this season while helping the Mudbugs to the South Division Championship.

NHL scouts and media have projected Sergeev as an NHL draft pick for most of the season. The NHL Central Scouting Office even projected him as the #8 goalie prospect in North America.

Now the sports betting website Lines has updated their NHL Mock Draft, and have projected where they believe Sergeev will land. If they're projection holds, Shreveport fans might enjoy it.

The Mock Draft from Lines says that Sergeev will be drafted in the 4th Round at pick #111, which belongs to the Dallas Stars.

Now this doesn't mean Sergeev would be suiting up for the Stars anytime soon. If he were drafted by the organization he would likely be assigned to one of their minor league teams. Possibly the Texas Stars of the AHL, who play in Cedar Park, Texas. Or the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL, who play in Boise, Idaho.

Either way, it will be awesome to see another Mudbug enter into an NHL system.

Comic Book Movie Stars Who Have Worked In Shreveport

We utilized IMDB's filming location database to help put this together. However there is one movie listed there that we didn't include. IMDB lists X-Men Origins: Wolverine on their Shreveport list, but we struggled to find citing for this. So we just left it off. Some of these stars weren't in comic book "movies" specifically. But we counted the Netflix Marvel shows, and MCU Disney+ shows as well.
