Mega Millions Jackpot Tuesday Is Top 15 Largest Ever Prize

SHREVEPORT, LA – I attended a few events over the long holiday weekend and one thing that came up during each outing was the monster Mega Millions jackpot. Folks are dreaming about how they will spend the money. Some even say they will keep working.

The Mega Millions drawing happens tonight and the huge prize has now climbed higher on the list of the largest lottery jackpots of all time. The $681 million fortune checks in at #15 on the list. If you are the lucky winner, you could claim the lump sum payout of $336 million (before taxes).

$2.04 billion, Powerball was won by one ticket in California on November 8, 2022.
$1.765 billion Powerball won by one winning ticket in California on October 11, 2023.
$1.602 Mega Millions August 8, 2023 won by one ticket in Florida.
$1.586 billion Powerball January 13, 2016. There were 3 winning tickets for this prize. These tickets were purchased in Tennessee, Florida, and California. Each had the option to take a lump sum of $327.8 million.
$1.537 billion, Mega Millions, Oct. 23, 2018 (one ticket, from South Carolina)
$1.348 billion Mega Millions won by one ticket on January 13, 2023. That ticket was sold in Maine.
$1.337 billion Mega Millions was won by one ticket in Illinois on July 29, 2022.
