Caddo Council on Aging announces it will host Mayor Cedric Glover and Sheriff Steve Prator on Monday, March 7, 2011 as they join an army of nearly one hundred Meals On Wheels drivers who hit the road EVERY MON-THURS to deliver a hot meal and a warm smile to area seniors confronted by a shortage of food!

The Mayor and Sheriff will be participating in the event to show their support for the community’s seniors and are eager to share their thoughts and experiences on the struggles which face our friends and neighbors of advanced age.

March For Meals is a national campaign, initiated by Meals On Wheels Association of America (MOWAA), which seeks to raise awareness of senior hunger and to encourage action on the part of the local community. Senior nutrition programs across the United States promote March For Meals in their local communities through public events, partnerships with local businesses, volunteer recruitment and fundraising initiatives.
