
Major Drug Bust Closes Out Long-Term DeSoto Parish Investigation
MANSFIELD, LA – A months-long investigation into the illegal distribution of methamphetamine, Xanax, and Suboxone in the Mansfield area culminated yesterday afternoon with a major arrest and drug bust, according to the DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office.

On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, DeSoto Parish Narcotic Agents, along with the Street Level Unit and S.W.A.T., executed a search warrant at a residence on McDonald Lane in Mansfield. The operation was the conclusion of an extensive probe into local drug trafficking.
Dalton Duran, a 28-year-old white male from Mansfield, was located on the property by the S.W.A.T. team and taken into custody without incident. Duran was initially arrested on an outstanding warrant stemming from the investigation, which included:
- Two counts of Distribution of Schedule II (Methamphetamine)
- One count of Distribution of Schedule III (Suboxone)
- Three counts of Distribution of Schedule IV (Xanax)
Also found at the scene was Whitney Coleman, a 30-year-old white female from Grand Cane. Authorities discovered Coleman also had outstanding drug-related warrants from neighboring Caddo Parish and she was arrested without resistance.
Seizure Yields Drugs and Weapons
During the subsequent search of the property, Narcotic Agents seized a significant quantity of illegal substances and related items, including:
- Over 100 Xanax bars
- A large quantity of methamphetamine
- Several firearms
- Multiple items of drug paraphernalia
Both subjects were transported to the DeSoto Detention Center and officially booked on additional charges related to the items found during the search.
Mr. Duran faces an extensive list of new charges added to his original warrant:
- Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule IV (Xanax)
- Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule II (Methamphetamine)
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS)
Ms. Coleman was booked on the Caddo Parish Fugitive Warrant for drug-related offenses.
Note: An arrest is an indication that probable cause existed during an alleged offense. All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
