Louisiana Natives in Major League Baseball to Start the 2018 Season
The greatest day of the year in my opnion is here -- Opening Day of Major League Baseball! And for the first time in quite a few years, every one of the teams will be starting their season on the same day.
Yeah, I know it's not quite "America's Pastime" anymore, but it's still loved by millions.
I was checking out some of the teams' Opening Day rosters to see who made it and who didn't. In doing so I noticed some familiar names with equally familiar hometowns next to them.
That got me wondering: "How many Louisiana natives are actually in the Big Leagues?"
The answer kind of surprised me. There aren't many.
The minor leagues are a different story, but for this list, we'll just include the Big Leaguers.
So here you go, Major League baseball players who are from the great state of Louisiana that are starting the season with a MLB team. (Click on a player's name to get their full profile including stats.)
