From Shreveport to New Orleans, Google Trends tell us Louisiana only had a couple things on their mind this weekend. As residents of the state flocked to Google to search for a lot of different terms, they were almost all tied to a couple of specific themes...and yes, Yellowstone was one of them.

First, how did we get this data? Well, Google Trends makes search terms for periods of time public. So when you search for something this week, Google will put it into the numbers. If you were looking for these specific things this weekend, your search results will be included in this data.

So What Was Louisiana Searching For?

The state was really interested in football this weekend. The top search term over the weekend was Alabama vs LSU, which makes perfect sense. One of the biggest games of the college football season, and it was in Baton Rouge. Not to mention ESPN brought their College GameDay show to the game, which is why "College GameDay" was the 24th ranked search of the weekend.

The second most searched term was Falcons vs Saints, which also fits. This was the Saints first game since firing Dennis Allen as their Head Coach, and it was against their biggest rival. So fans were actually interested for the first time in a while.

Also mixed into the searches was the LHSAA High School Football Playoff bracket, which landed at 17th on the list.

Considering football as a whole topic, the Google Trends were totally dominated by football this weekend. With 9 of the top 10 searches all being about football games.

Besides Football, What Did Louisiana Look Up Online?

One of the other big searches was about Veterans Day, which is today. The 13th and 14th overall searches were both about the holiday. So even though the term itself didn't crack the top 10 searches, combined as a topic, it was a highly searched term across Louisiana this weekend.

But there was actually a topic that made it above Veterans Day, but behind football.

People in Louisiana Love Yellowstone

As the TV show Yellowstone made its return last night, the state of Louisiana seemed to be invested. The term "Yellowstone" was the 12th most searched term in the state this weekend. But there was another related search to the show that actually outranked it. That's right, something from Yellowstone was searched for more than the show itself.

So what was it?

Without going into spoiler territory on anything, we will just point out that the name Billy Klapper was the 11th most searched term this weekend in Louisiana.

What Else Was Searched For in Louisiana This Weekend?

The big trend-breaker in the results was the 10th most searched term for the weekend. It was "Real Sociedad - Barcelona", as Barcelona was shockingly handed their second loss of the LaLiga season 1-0. The loss snapped Barcelona's 7 game winning streak, and was the first time they lost in over a month. So soccer fans in the state were absolutely searching online to see what happened.

  1. Alabama vs LSU
  2. Falcons vs Saints
  3. Eagles vs Cowboys
  4. Broncos vs Chiefs
  5. Lions vs Texans
