A 14 year old Southwood student has been arrested after he repeatedly threatened violence against the school, its staff and fellow students. Several students reported the threat to the school's resource officer, who quickly began the investigation that landed the young man in jail. According to the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office, the student first made the threats after the deadly shooting at a school in Florida and then repeated the terroristic threats again on Thursday.

The student was taken into custody and booked into the Caddo Juvenile Detention Center.

Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator says his office takes all reported threats seriously and it is his duty to provide a safe environment for all students and teachers.

Prator says that parents need to talk with their children about the consequences of their words and actions because in this day and age any threat, whether it was meant as a joke or not, will land you in jail in Caddo Parish.
