Local Pastor Dies After Testing Positive for Coronavirus
Several reports are coming out that the person who died from complications caused by COVID-19 is Shreveport Pastor Ronnie Hampton. Pastor Hampton worked at New Vision Community Church and is well known for leading the annual "Takin' It to the Streets" event.
KSLA is reporting that close family members told them that Hampton died a day after testing positive for the coronavirus. According to their report, Hampton went to the emergency room Friday with abdominal pain and a chronic cough. After being diagnosed with pneumonia in both lungs, he was placed in isolation and tested for COVID-19.
Those test results came back positive on Tuesday. Hampton passed away due to complications from the virus Wednesday evening.
