With massive budget cuts to higher education looming, several groups are rallying together to show their support for local institutions. The Shreveport-Bossier Business Alliance for Higher Education are in Baton Rouge today to meet with North West Louisiana legislators. The SBBA already launched a petition to save local schools, which has gained massive support online garnering over 700 signatures.

Also happening this after noon, students from LSU Shreveport and Southern University will hold a student/teacher rally in the state capitol. More than 2000 students and faculty members from both universities are expected to attend the rally.
