Cold Weather Safety Tips:
- Wear warm clothing to protect against the cold.
- Avoid lighting fires in enclosed areas as this greatly increases the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning and death.
- Alcohol does not keep you warm; it thins the bloodstream, increasing the risk of hypothermia.
- Be cautious with open flames and heaters to prevent fires that could result in property damage and loss of life.
Weather Forecast: As of Monday, January 6, 2025, the low temperature is 28°F, with a high of 44°F for the week. Snow and rain are expected on Thursday (January 9) and Friday (January 10). These conditions pose extreme risks for anyone outdoors.
Take Action Now: If you or someone you know is at risk, please utilize these resources immediately. Contact the Shreveport Police Department or CADA for additional assistance. Do not wait until it is too late to seek shelter and help.
Stay safe and take care of one another during this cold weather. Together, we can ensure everyone has the resources they need to stay warm and protected.
