Caddo patrol deputies detained a 25-year-old Keithville woman for stabbing her 75-year-old grandmother.

At approximately 3:45 a.m., on 7/5/23 Caddo deputies were notified that an elderly woman walked into Ochsner LSU Health with multiple stab wounds to her abdomen and legs. The victim told the hospital’s security officer that her granddaughter walked into her room while she was sleeping, stabbed her, and told her to drive herself to the hospital.

Patrol deputies were dispatched to the woman’s residence in the 12000 block of Mansfield Road in Keithville to look for her granddaughter. The woman was located at a nearby truck stop and taken into custody. She was detained and transported to the Criminal Investigation Division for further investigation.

Caddo Sheriff’s detectives have arrested Gracie Watson, 25, for stabbing her grandmother. She was charged with one count of Attempted Second-Degree Murder and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center. No bond has been set in this case.

There is no information on the victim's current condition.
