The Caddo Parish Coroner's office released the names on Thursday, July 6th of the four victims of the violent shooting at a July 4th celebration in the Martin Luther King Jr. neighborhood.

Three of the victims died at the scene, and became the 38th, 39th, and 40th homicide victims in Caddo Parish for 2023.  They were shot around 11:40PM in the 2100 block of Pearl Street, near Jones-Mabry Road in North Shreveport. Two of the victims immediately declared deceased at the scene were Morad Aziz, 22 years old, of Stewart Lane, and Jarike J. Dorsey, 19 years old.

Also shot at the same time at the Pearl Street party, July 4th, was Demoire Williams, 24 years old, of Martha Lane.  Williams was transported to  Ochsner LSU Health Hospital, where he later died from his wounds, at 12:31AM, Wednesday July 5th.  Mr. Williams' death marked the 40th homicide in Caddo Parish for 2023.

 

The fourth victim, a 17 year old male, was found in a field near the shooting site at 9:27AM, Wednesday, July 5th.  He has been identified as Syncere Brown, of Jody Lane.  Mr. Brown becomes the 41st homicide victim of the year.

Autopsies have been ordered for all four of the decedents, whose deaths remain under investigation by the Shreveport Police Department.
