Recent data from the week of January 12 to January 18 revealed that the statewide influenza positivity rate jumped to 12.9%. While 12.9% might not sound like a very large number, it’s quite drastic and somewhat alarming. Nearly 700 patients have been seen within 24 hours just in the city of Fort Worth alone, according to CBS News. There were also over 200 cases in a North Texas independent school district affected by the influenza outbreak.
