71 Animals Found Without Food or Water In Old Texas School Bus
On Monday, 71 dogs, cats, and puppies were rescued from an old school bus in Galveston Island State Park after a witness called 911.

The witness told police she saw countless animals crammed in kennels on a school bus, and when authorities arrived, they found 71 animals in deplorable conditions. Not only were the animals without food or water, the kennels were covered in urine and feces.
The animals are currently under the care of the Galveston Island Humane Society and Houston SPCA. They are receiving the care needed, along with cruelty exams performed by Texas A&M veterinary students.
As for the woman responsible, she has not been identified however, she did surrender to the police. At this time, no official charges have been released.
It is suspected that some of the animals were stolen after an East Texas family got a call that their pet A'rhx, who thankfully was microchipped, went missing two months ago and had been rescued along with 70 other animals.
KiShun Bradley says that a woman who worked for a 'no-kill shelter' picked up her family's dog A'rhx, who escaped from their yard along with KC, their other family pet.
Bradley made multiple attempts to retrieve her dog, "She just started playing games with us. Wanted to come do welfare checks at the home but never showed up. They would just give us the runaround every time we called."
Galveston Island Humane Society discovered that two other dogs from the rescue had microchips and one with a rabies tag. The other animals are all being evaluated and will eventually be available for adoption.
