Taylor Swift in New Orleans – Tickets Are Available
A few years before Taylor Swift made her first appearance at Lafayette's Cajundome in 2009 we had the pleasure of finding her in a rather precarious place. Taylor was known around Nashville but not known to Country Music fans. So, the always energetic Taylor came up with a plan, she would play her guitar on the steps of the famous Ryman Auditorium for anyone kind enough to stop by and listen.
My memory of Taylor's stop in Lafayette in 2009 has less to do with her and more about her amazing mother Andrea. It was Taylor's mom who took my daughter and several of her friends on a backstage tour of "Taylor's World". Mrs. Swift showed the girls Taylor's dressing room, her wardrobe, her guitars, and surprise surprise, at the very end of the tour was Taylor. Who could not have been any sweeter.
Fast forward a decade and Taylor Swift is not only known by Country Music fans, she is known by anyone who owns a speaker. Her current Eras Tour is beyond description. She has sold out places that were never meant to hold as many people as they did for her show. Her tour has made hotel rooms in host cities scarce for the days in and around her shows.
Needless to say, seeing Taylor can be tricky. Those who waded through the quagmire of Ticketmaster slop in order to get tickets when her Eras Tour was first announced have been waiting for this fall. That's when Taylor is scheduled to play the Caesar's Superdome in New Orleans. Yes, tickets are officially sold out, but that doesn't mean you can't still get them.
In fact, you can find seats for all three nights of Taylor's shows scheduled from October 25th through October 27th. But how much are they going to cost you?
We visited several aftermarket ticket sites and here is what we found:
Vivid Seats- Had tickets for all three shows but only 1% of tickets were left. Ticket prices ranged from $1,706 for a ticket in the Terrace Level to as much as $40,599 for tickets on the floor in Section G. By the way, that is a per-ticket price, so a pair of tickets in the Terrace Level in the Superdome would set you back almost $3500. That same pair of tickets on the floor is going to set you back more than $81,000.
Stub Hub - Had tickets for all three shows but the notation on their site said "selling fast". I am not sure how fast at the prices they are quoting but you know someone will buy those tickets, right? Stub Hub's low-end ticket price was comparable to Vivid Seats price. You could find tickets for as low as $1,582. You could find floor seats ranging from $3,000 to $6,000 each depending on what you want to spend.
Seat Geek - Had tickets for all three shows. The lowest prices were for the Sunday night show which started at $1,752 per ticket. The high end for Seat Geek Tickets was in the $47,300 range. Those are, of course, premium tickets and should get you close enough to see Taylor sweat, if she even does that.
Ticketmaster - Had seats for all three nights of Taylor's time in New Orleans. You can find comparably priced seats as those we've listed above. Of course, you'll probably get to pay some "Ticketmaster fees" on top of the actual ticket price because that's what Ticketmaster does.
To be fair, all ticket resellers charge a fee. But Ticketmaster is notorious for ruining the consumer experience at many shows with their outrageous fees. Perhaps that is why Congress is currently looking into their business model for possible anti-trust violations.
So, tickets for Taylor in New Orleans are available. All you need now is for that Mega Millions or Powerball ticket to come through for you. Or maybe your favorite radio station will have some free tickets for you. That my friends is a hint you shouldn't ignore.
Y'all think Ticketmaster is on this list?
