The nominations are out for the 2024 Grammy Awards and Louisiana is well represented in several categories.

One of those nominees is Lauren Daigle, who garnered two nominations. The Lake Charles native who grew up in Lafayette was nominated for her self-titled album "Lauren Daigle" in the Best Contemporary Christian Music Album category.

Also, a song on the album, "Thank God I Do," was nominated for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song.

Back in 2019, Daigle won a Grammy for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for the song "You Say."

The Best Regional Roots Music Album is once again dominated by Louisiana artists. There are a total of three Acadiana natives in this group, and they include:

  • Buckwheat Zydeco Jr. & The Legendary Ils Sont Partis Band - New Beginnings
  • Dwayne Dopsie & The Zydeco Hellraisers - Live At The 2023 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival
  • Lost Bayou Ramblers & Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra - Live: Orpheum Theater Nola

Other Louisianians getting Grammy nominations include Jon Batiste, PJ Morton, the New Breed Brass Band, New Orleans Nightcrawlers, and The Rumble featuring Chief Joseph Boudreaux Jr.

Batiste is up for a whopping six awards ahead of the February 2024 ceremony, including in top categories like Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Album of the Year.

The 66th Grammy Awards will take place on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
