Texas has been rocked by numerous gang-related incidents over the last few years. This is pushed authorities to seriously crackdown on gang activity in the state. Recently, police in Texas made a massive move to arrest dozens in gang related crimes.

US Attorney for the Southern District of Texas, Alamdar Hamdani, helped to lead a crackdown in the Houston area that generated nearly 40 arrests. These arrests included charges of Possession With Intent to Distribute Narcotics, Possessing Firearms in Furtherance of Drug Trafficking Crimes, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Carjacking. Hamdani said at a press conference:

“Houston's neighborhoods are hurting. These crimes violent crimes are a daily occurrence; an unfortunate reality in many of Houston’s communities.”

These arrests and charges are just the tip of the iceberg in Texas. Stories like this can be duplicated across all of the major cities in the state; from Dallas to Austin, and even cities like El Paso and Lubbock. There is crime all over the state, and much of it can be traced to some form of gang-related activity.

That's because there are numerous gangs that are regularly operating in the state. Probably more than you expect. Many of these gangs are strictly known for their activity in the drug game, and others who are more known for their "enforcement". These violent gangs may get more headlines, but all of them remain dangerous.
