The New Orleans Saints have the 9th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. For a few weeks now, reporters, oddsmakers, fans, and draft experts have all been under the belief that the Saints will take a quarterback with that pick. This belief intensified after it was revealed that Saints quarterback Derek Carr is dealing with a shoulder injury, which might cost him the entire 2025 season.

Will The Saints Draft Sheduer Sanders?

Initially, the belief was that the Saints were planning to Sheduer Sanders, quarterback from Colorado and son of NFL Hall of Fame member Deion Sanders. In fact, the betting community was so sure that Sanders was going to be the Saints pick, they made him the betting favorite. But after some reporting came out of New Orleans about their view of Sanders, the odds shifted, and the Saints were no longer the favorite to land Sanders.

Who Will The New Orleans Saints Take in the First Round?

Now the day of the draft, rumors are beginning to swirl around a different name at quarterback. Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart is screaming up the odds and mock drafts.

Reporters have been scrambling for hours to put out as many reports as they could about Dart to the Saints. Which, if that's the smoke, the fire is coming from the oddsmakers.

From ESPN Bets to Bleacher Report Betting, the odds for Dart to be the second quarterback drafted, and to be the Saints' pick at #9, have been increasing. Moving to become the favorite to be the second quarterback drafted, and the Saints moving into the second favorite to take Dart.

We only have a few hours left to find out for sure, but its sounding like the Ole Miss quarterback might be the Saints pick tonight.
