Shreveport Kids Can Learn From Pro Bowl Star Alvin Kamara

One of the biggest names in the New Orleans sports is making plans to visit Shreveport for a special training event. Saints superstar running back Alvin Kamara is set to host a youth football camp in Shreveport, to work with local athletes in 2026.

This event will bring professional level coaching to Shreveport high school stadium...giving kids a chance to learn from a true pro bowler. It marks a huge opportunity for young football players to develop their skills with guidance from a league veteran.

Kamara, the 5-time NFL Pro Bowl running back, is bringing a youth football camp to Southwood High School in Shreveport. The NFL star will host the event in April 2026 to teach football fundamentals to local kids. Participants will run through drills and receive hands-on instruction to improve their skills on the field.

This event offers a chance for young athletes in the 318 to learn directly from one of the most dynamic players in the league. For young athletes in some regions, this might be a rare opportunity. But in Northwest Louisiana, it's becoming more and more common to have these camps, thanks to the large amount of pro football talent that has been produced from our area. These talented players all come back to share their success with the local community year after year.

When is the Camp Happening?

The camp is scheduled for April 5, 2026, and will take place from 2pm to 6pm at Southwood High School's football stadium on Walker Road. It welcomes boys and girls ages 6 to 16 who are ready to work hard and have fun.

Campers will be grouped by age, to ensure everyone gets the most out of the experience while training with FlexWork Sports coaches. Kamara himself will be there to guide the sessions, and interact with the attendees throughout the afternoon.
