Stars From the ‘Terrifier’ Film Franchise Are Coming to Shreveport

This August, Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con returns to Downtown Shreveport. When this event started back in 2015, not many people probably expected the event to still be going a decade later. But it's 2025, and Geek'd Con is coming back to the Shreveport Convention Center, August 22nd-24th. That's right, its Geek'd Con's 10th Anniversary!

The lineup for Geek'd Con has been announced, and there are some big names coming to Shreveport. Two of the names are becoming massive names in the world of horror movies. David Howard Thornton and Samantha Scaffidi are coming to Geek'd Con!

What is the Terrifier Film Series?

Debuting in 2016, the Terrifier film franchise has grown to be a horror movie powerhouse. Created by Damien Leone, the franchise centers around the evil and mystifying killer Art the Clown. The character technically debuted as a part of two short films, 'The 9th Circle' and 'Terrifier' that were included in the 2013 horror anthology release 'All Hallows' Eve'.

But it wasn't until the first major release of Terrifier in 2016 that sparked the explosion.

The first release saw an immediate fan response, that grew strong enough to demand a second film. Terrifier 2 was met with success at the box office and with critics. But then Terrifier 3 changed the whole game. Terrifier 3 debuted at #1 in the box office the week of it's release, beating the major budget comic book film Joker: Folie à Deux, which was in its second weekend of release.

So Who is Art The Clown?

When the full movie was released, actor David Howard Thornton took over as Art The Clown, and the franchise hasn't slowed since. David's work under the makeup has been applauded by critics and fans alike. His strong performance has helped launch Art The Clown into the upper tier of horror movie baddies.

So its a pretty big deal that David Howard Thornton is coming back to Shreveport for Geek'd Con.

What Other Terrifier Star is Coming to Shreveport?

Joining David Howard Thornton will be Samantha Scaffidi

Best known for her role as Victoria Heyes the Terrifier franchise, Samantha has a pretty impressive record with the fan favorite films. Samantha is one of only two actors that have been in ALL THREE of the Terrifier movies. The other being Art The Clown actor, David Howard Thornton.

What is Next for Terrifier and Art The Clown?

The commercial success of Terrifier 3 has earned a green light for Terrifier 4, and we're hoping Samantha continues her Terrifier streak with that one too!

Are Other Celebrities Coming to Shreveport for Geek'd Con?

This year's guest lineup already includes a 35th Anniversary "Shell-a-Bration" for the release of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, with actors representing all four Turtles from the movie. Tony Award winning actor Barry Bostwick will also be at the event. They'll all be joined by celebrities like Theo Rossi, Ethan Suplee, and Alan Ruck.
