For the 2024 Mardi Gras season, Krewe of Centaur took members and revelers on a "Mystical Vacation" as they celebrated their Grand Bal 32. The theme for this year's bal was "Mystical Vacation", and the event took attendees through mythical destinations like Asgard, The Shire, Atlantis, and Westeros.

The evening included scenery from these locations both on-stage and across royalty tables. Including dragons, jellyfish, the One Ring, and Mjölnir. The intricate table decorations celebrated each mythical destination, as well as the costumes the royalty wore on stage.

If you're not familiar with a Mardi Gras Bal, you should really check one out. There are multiple Krewes in the Shreveport-Bossier area that host bal events every year. The Krewe of Centaur website defines a bal as an event where:

"...scenes representing a specific theme are acted out for the entertainment of club members and their guests, Krewe royalty is traditionally presented during the bal."

Beyond the mystical destinations shared between the Captain, Dukes, and Duchesses, the King and Queen for the evening brought their own flair to the event.

The King and Queen tables are dedicated more to the position than the theme. For Grand Bal 32, both King and Queen tables were outfitted in a bright white with amazing tabletop decorations. Each table was dedicated to their individual royalty, and therefore had their own unique aspects. Special place settings were out for each guest they invited, and everyone at their tables had a front row seat to the festivities of the evening.
