The Anime Voices of The Joker and Harley Quinn Are Coming to Shreveport
Back in 2015, Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con started in Downtown Shreveport. Not many people probably expected the event to still be going a decade later. But it's 2025, and Geek'd Con is coming back to the Shreveport Convention Center, August 22nd-24th.
This year's guest lineup already includes a 35th Anniversary "Shell-a-Bration" for the release of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Including voice actors Brian Tochi (Leonardo), Robbie Rist (Michalangelo), and martial artists Ernie Reyes, Jr. (Donatello) and Kenn Scott (Raphael). The four Turtles actors will be joined by Francois Chau, who portrayed The Shredder in the TMNT film universe as well.
You'll also be able to meet starts like Alan Ruck, Theo Rossi, and Ethan Suplee. But there's more being added to the lineup on a regular basis. Today, it was the voices behind DC Comics anime versions of The Joker and Harley Quinn...
This year, it's time for a little bit of a Shreveport homecoming for the anime voice of The Joker, Scott Gibbs! As we welcome him to Geek'd Con in August!
Scott Gibbs is probably best known as the voice of The Joker in the DC Comics Anime Universe. Including the series "Suicide Squad ISEKAI", and the film "Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League".
Through the DC Comic Anime Universe, Scott gets to play one of the most iconic villain roles in comic books, cartoons, movies, and TV shows. If you think about all of the versions of The Joker character, this might be one of the most well protected roles in history.
Scott is also known as the voice of Tobio Kageyama in the "Haikyu!!" series, Riku Dola in "No Game No Life: Zero", and Satoshi Isshiki in "Food Wars!" universe.
His voice has also been heard in "The Demon Girl Next Door", "Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars", "Helck", "Ragna Crimson", and "Oshi no Ko"...to name a few.
Scott is very familiar with Shreveport as well. He got his degree in Theatre Arts from Centenary College in the heart of Shreveport.
Joining Scott will be his Harley Quinn from the DC Anime Universe...Karlii Hoch.
Karlii is a voice actor known for bringing Harley Quinn/Dr. Harleen Quinzel to life in the DC Comics Anime Universe. Including the series "Suicide Squad ISEKAI", and the film "Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League".
In the Suicide Squad ISEKAI series, Karlii's Harley Quinn serves as the lead character, similar to other versions of the Suicide Squad. With users online calling this version of Harley "amazing".
Karlii is also known as the voice of Nao Sadatsuka in the "Food Wars!" series, and Tiona Hiryute in "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?".
As the DC Comics Anime universe continues to build, expect to see...or rather hear...more of Karlii's Harley Quinn in the future.
