Horror Illustration Master Brian Steward Comes to Shreveport

Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, is heading back to Downtown Shreveport for year #8 at the Shreveport Convention Center. This year's event will be August 18th through August 20th.

Since its start, Geek'd Con has been one of the premiere comic con style events in the state of Louisiana. The event has generated millions of dollars in economic impact to the Shreveport and Bossier City area. While also bringing in Rock & Roll Hall of Fame members, Star Wars icons, Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame members, and horror movie legends.

This year's guests include Kevin Smith, Brandon Routh, Sam Witwer, John Barrowman, Estelle (and the rest of the Crystal Gems from Steven Universe), Kurt Angle, and more. Along with Kevin Smith, a huge cast reunion for his films will be happening in Shreveport.

When these guests come to Shreveport, they'll be in-person to meet fans, take pictures, and sign autographs. When it comes to the autograph part of that, things can get pretty cool. You can do your standard 8x10 picture autograph, or you can bring your own item to get signed.

In addition to the on-screen celebrities, there will be comic book and illustration guests too. These artists have resumes that include comic books, magazines, movie posters, and more. One of those guests is a veteran of horror and rock music illustration, Brian Steward...

Steward is an artist, writer, and photographer who's work has been featured in Fangoria, Kiss: The Official Magazine, Scream: The Horror Magazine, Gorezone, and Heavy Metal. He is also a force with Fantasm Media, where you can find incredible work featuring KISS, George A. Romero, Sid Haig, and more.

With Heavy Metal magazine, he worked as lead book designer and contributing illustrator. He was also lead designer on Malibu Bay Films' DVD catalog.

Brian was also responsible for one of the greatest pieces of Geek'd Con artwork ever. The incredible Alice Cooper Geek'd Con print from 2021...

Brian has cooked up some other amazing pieces of exclusive Geek'd Con art over the years as well. Like his Ghostface and Herman Munster work from 2022.
