If you are a Thespian or a lover of theater, you've probably seen several shows at Shreveport's Little Theatre. Although the goal for several people who perform at the Little Theatre may not be Broadway, we all know a big dreamer who has set their eyes on Broadway, right? There is one name that pops up when it comes to Broadway shows that will always make Shreveport proud: Dez Duron.

Dez Duron made headlines when he auditioned for NBC's The Voice. Duron ended up making it to the Top 8 of Season 3 on Team Christina.

Although we think that he deserved to win the entire competition, this may have been the perfect introduction to the big stage. Dez did something many actors only dream of: he made his Broadway debut this past fall in a musical called "Maybe Happy Ending".

"Maybe Happy Ending" originated as a one-act musical written and first performed in Korean in South Korea. The English version then made its debut in Atlanta, starring Dez Duron. While Darren Criss, familiar to many from Glee, later took the lead in the Broadway production, Duron plays the supporting character, Gil Brentley, in that Broadway version.

The Tony Awards returned to New York City on Sunday night, with "Maybe Happy Ending" being one of the big winners of the night. The crew walked home with six Tony awards, which sounds like a big sweep to us. We are thrilled that a Shreveport resident is making our community proud on Broadway.
