3-year-old Carter Johnson of Shreveport, LA will be headed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for treatment and he needs our help!

I honestly can't think of anything much worse than finding out that your baby is sick, but that's exactly what Carter Johnson's parents are having to deal with right now. Carter was recently diagnosed with High-Risk Metastatic Neuroblastoma. Listen, I have no clue what that means, all I know is that it sounds big and scary. And it's scary enough that Carter will be at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for the next 18 months for treatment. While you never pay more than your insurance will cover at St. Jude, what it doesn't cover is lost wages while you're helping to nurse your little one back to health, and that's where you come in.

Carter's mother, Emily, is one of the fabulous nurses at Dermatology and Skin Surgery. She's the nurse for my dermatologist, Dr. Anne Bryan. And to help Emily and her family out, the team at Dermatology and Skin Surgery is hosting a fish fry fundraiser on Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 11 am - 2 pm at the clinic at 9007 Ellerbe Road in south Shreveport. Plates are just $10 and tickets can be purchased at Dermatology and Skin Surgery or by calling (318) 286-1166. Donations are also welcome.

On top of supporting Carter at the fish fry at DSS, you can also order a shirt to 'wear' your support of Carter in his fight against cancer! Go get 'em Carter! You're all in our prayers!
