Statistics Say This is the Deadliest Day Each Year on Texas Roads

We all know that driving can be unsafe at times, when you really think about it we are traveling at a high rate of speed very close to each other. While it is sad, it’s not uncommon to hear about people losing their life while traveling. But driving is a necessity for most of us as we have to go to work to pay the bills. But did you know there is a specific day each year that always seems to have the greatest number of deaths on Texas roads? 

It’s a harsh reality that many people don’t want to talk about. Which I totally understand, I had a cousin that was killed in a vehicle crash. Nobody wants to be killed in a vehicle crash, and no one wants to cause the death of another which is why we have to be so careful whenever we are traveling in our vehicles. What seems like a simple trip to the store can quickly become your last trip on earth.

What Day Has the Most Deaths on Texas Roads? 

As you would expect the day that always has the highest number of deaths on Texas roads takes place on a holiday. But it’s not Thanksgiving or Christmas. We’re talking about the kickoff to summer, that’s right Memorial Day is the most dangerous day to be on Texas roads with an average of 52 fatalities each year. 

The Two Worst Drinking and Driving Holidays 

Memorial Day brings lots of drinking and driving plus speeding as the weather is getting nicer. But the biggest holidays for drinking and driving would be New Year’s Eve and the 4th of July. So be extra careful if you are traveling around those holidays.  

I’m telling you this not to scare you, I just want you to be extra careful especially around the holidays that seem to bring more deaths on Texas roads.
