Zwolle Tamale Fiesta Celebrates Its 50th Anniversary This Weekend
I can honestly say that I've never met one single person who didn't absolutely love tamales.

The tamale has got to be one of the greatest culinary creations to ever grace a dinner plate. Truth be told, they're actually even better off the plate and inhaled straight out of the hand.
And this weekend, this traditional Mesoamerican dish, made from corn dough, filled with meat and wrapped in a corn husk, is taking center stage at the 50th Annual Zwolle Tamale Fiesta in Zwolle, Louisiana!
On the event's website, zwolletamalefiesta.com, we read that the Zwolle Tamale Fiesta celebrates the rich Spanish and Indian heritage of the people of the town. Held each year at the Zwolle Festival Grounds, the Zwolle Tamale Fiesta offers a fun-filled weekend of reliving the area’s heritage with plenty of delicious hot tamales, entertainment, arts and crafts, dancing, parades, and children’s activities.
