Wednesday Bossier Parish Schools Will ‘See You at the Pole’
We can all rest a little easier, knowing that students in Bossier Parish and all over America, are putting everything into God's hands.
Thousands of area students will join the millions of students across the nation this Wednesday morning, September 25, for the annual "See You at the Pole" prayer event.
These students will meet at scores of school flagpoles prior to the start of school and pray for their schools, families, fellow students and the future.
And the most impressive part of this national event is that it's entirely a student-initiated, student-organized and student-led prayer event.
The event, which began with only ten students praying for fellow students and the staff at a school in a small Texas town in 1990, is now held across the nation each year on the fourth Wednesday of September.
While we know that schools all over Northwest Louisiana are participating in this week's events, we were only able to secure verified information concerning the start times for the following schools:
- Parkway High School - 6:50 am
- Haughton Middle School - 7:30 am
We do know there are additional rules that apply to any elementary schools participating in this Wednesday's events:
- Parents must bring their children to these events
- Children can't be dropped off and they can't go from the school bus
- Parents must stay on campus to monitor children until the first school bell rings
Kiss Country thanks all the area students who are getting up a little early this Wednesday to pray for all of us! This country needs a really good dose of prayer and maybe today will be the catalyst that puts us all back on our knees.
