Unique Things You Need To Handle Before Louisiana Deer Season
Deer season is only four days away! Here in Area 2 of Northwest Louisiana, archery season season always begins on October 1, so that means that Tuesday is the big day that deer hunters have been waiting on since the end of January.
Archery season will continue through January 31, 2025. However, for those wishing to hunt the primitive weapons season in Area 2, that will run from October 19 through October 25 and again from January 13 through January 19, 2025
According to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries website, modern firearms season will begin on October 26 and run through January 12, 2025, so that gives us a little more time for preparation, but that time is getting shorter with each passing day.

Now, I'm talking about the "important" things. Sure, it is important to sight in your deer rifle. And anyone should be responsible enough to check out their box stand for wasp nests and make sure that all their old hunting clothes and insulated underwear are in good enough shape (and still fit) to take on another year, but what I'll cover are those truly "important" things.
Of course, along with all these suggestions, I'd be remiss if I didn't add that one of the biggest things you should prepare for is to figure out which kid(s) you'll take with you.
In my humble opinion, that's the greatest responsibility of all of us hunters; to pass the baton. To spread the passion of the outdoors and the love of God's creation.
So let's take a look at just what's deemed "Important."
