New Louisiana Bowhunter Training Available Online
While Louisiana doesn't require residents or non-residents to have any type of specific "bowhunting education" to order to hunt in the state, there are many states that do.

Want to bow hunt in Alaska, Montana, Idaho, New York, Nebraska or many provinces in Canada? You'll need to be able to produce your bowhunter education credentials before they'll will issue you a license.
And even though Louisiana doesn't require the same of our bow hunters, if you're new to the sport, it's really a good idea to get some of this formal education for general safety purposes.
And now the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries has launched a new Online Bowhunter Education Course.
This convenient, self-paced course provides hunters with the opportunity to complete their bowhunter education online for $34.95. The course link can be found by visiting the LDWF website under the Education and Events tab.
According to LDWF Secretary Tyler Bosworth, "We’re excited to offer this new option to our hunting community. It’s never been easier or more convenient to get certified. This course offers flexibility, accessibility, and ensures our hunters are prepared to meet education requirements across state lines."
In an alert about this announcement from LDWF we see, "In this new online course, hunters will learn safe bowhunting practices and will be properly certified and eligible to hunt in other states where bowhunter education is mandatory. Another benefit of this course is that, upon completion, there is no requirement for a "Field Day".
The course includes lessons on bowhunting safety, equipment, wildlife identification, ethical shot placement, and conservation principles. It’s a valuable resource for new and experienced bowhunters alike.
