Diana Sanders Is This Week’s Caught in the Act Recipient

No one knows that more than Diana Sanders. Taking the negative experience she had growing up in an abusive household, Diana used that as a platform to work miracles in the lives of many people in similar situations in the Minden area.

While we actually received a number of nominations for Diana, the one we read first was from Regina Carathers, and it was so eloquently penned, we knew there couldn't be anyone any better suited as this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.

My name is Regina. I work at Mercy's Closet. Diana is the owner of Mercy's Closet. Mrs. Diana is the most kind-hearted, compassionate individual u will ever meet. She opened Mercy's Closet 5 years ago, after growing up in an abusive household. She knew the circle had to stop somewhere and she chose to stop it with her. At Mercy's Closet, we are a non-profit second hand store where we run strictly off of donations. Anyone, rich or poor can come in off the streets and get 8 items per day off of our free rack. We help anyone in the surrounding area that is in need. The money we take in pays utilities and the six employees that work there. Leftover money helps other area non-profits as well. Mercy's Closet has put a down payment on a house for a domestic abuse survivor. Mercy's Closet has bought a refrigerator for a 9 month old Hospice patient who needed to store medicine. We have helped many victims of house fires. We have an application, where if you qualify financially, you can shop the whole store for free. If there is a foster child, no matter the need, they automatically qualify. Diana is the BEST boss hands down. Not long ago, my dad passed away. She let me off for a whole week. She didn't have to pay me, but she did. She is very humble. She is super kind and very loving. I have the best job. I actually look forward to getting up and going to work each day. I know with Mrs. Diana in control, we will make a difference in many lives each day. And that is why I love her and my job. She will probably think she hasn't done anything to deserve this. But I think she is amazing and deserves this and so much more.
