LADOTD Closing Several Bridges in Caddo/Bossier Next Week

Traffic in Shreveport/Bossier should prepare for some additional challenges next week as the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is conducting routine bridge inspections.

In a series of notifications from the DOTD, we've learned that traffic will be temporarily disrupted during these bridge inspections at the following locations.

I-20 Eastbound Bridge Over Lakeshore Drive in Shreveport

On Monday, July 7, the I-20 eastbound bridge over Lakeshore Drive and the CPKC Railroad tracks in Shreveport, will be reduced to one lane from approximately 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

I-220 Eastbound Red River Bridge

On Tuesday, July 8, the I-220 eastbound bridge over the Red River in Bossier and Caddo Parishes will be reduced to one lane from approximately 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

This lane closure will allow vehicles 14 feet wide or smaller to pass through the inspection zone. Larger vehicles must detour utilizing an alternate route.

LA 3032 (Shreveport/Barksdale) Westbound Red River Bridge

On Wednesday, July 9, the LA 3032 (Shreveport-Barksdale) westbound bridge over the Red River in Bossier Parish will be reduced to one lane from approximately 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

This lane closure will allow vehicles 12 feet wide or smaller to pass through the inspection zone. Larger vehicles must detour utilizing an alternate route.

I-20 Eastbound Ramp to I-220 Westbound in Bossier

On Thursday, July 10, the I-20 eastbound ramp to I-220 westbound (Exit 26) in Bossier will be closed from approximately 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

This is a total ramp closure and all vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.

LA 1 (Spring Street) To I-20 Westbound On Ramp

On Saturday, July 12, the I-20 westbound on-ramp from LA 1 northbound (N. Spring Street) in Shreveport will be closed from approximately 6:30 am to 3:00 pm.

This is a total ramp closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.

Of course, all of these inspections are "Weather Permitting" so inclement weather could delay, extend or alter in other ways the scheduled work days/hours.
