Okay, whoever made Mother Nature mad, can you apologize? And do it quickly!

With expected highs near 90 for the next couple of days and heat index values nearing triple digits, and the possibility of more severe storms with high winds and large hail, Mother Nature is again flexing her weather muscle and reminding us who's boss here in the Bayou State.

Of course these temps shouldn't have come as a surprise to us, though unseasonable, the National Weather Service warned us as early as this past weekend they were coming, and we've already seen articles reminding us to "stay safe during this unseasonable heat".

The First Day of Summer Isn't Until June 20

It's not like we don't see temperatures much hotter than this every summer, but for crying out loud, it's the first week of May.

And predictions for this summer are daunting.  The National Weather Service is concerned enough, they've created a new term for the upcoming heat.

We all know what a "heat index" is.  It's a quotient of the actual temperature and the humidity giving us a "what it actually feels like" variable.

Well, new this summer, the NWS will use the "Heat Risk Value" which will give meteorologists a better way to accurately convey the impacts a heat wave can have on our health and safety.

So, where's the humor in all of this?  We've got to laugh or it'll get the best of us.  A friend of mine told me that his air conditioner has only come on once so far this year. He said it came on three weeks ago and he'll tell me when it finally shuts off.

It's just that hot! (Scares me to think that maybe Al Gore wasn't a total goof ball)

We Ain't Skeered Of A Little Heat Wave

Course, here in the Bayou State, we know how to handle bad weather. For crying out loud, we throw parties while looking straight into the eye of a hurricane, so some little heat wave doesn't scare us.

To help you see the humor in all of this, we've found some Hilarious Signs That Summer Has Already Hit Louisiana.
