After 10 years on the run and on the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives list a woman IIiana Rodriguez was arrested by Mexican authorities and U.S. Marshals in Jalisco, Mexico.

34-year-old Iris IIiana Rodriguez was reported missing in January 2015, after alleged reports of having an inappropriate relationship with an 11-year-old girl. The former counselor was charged with three counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact, three counts of harassment, and one count of unlawful restraint, according to a report from INTERPOL Mexico and the Texas Department of Public Safety. Warrants for her arrest were issued and she was taken into custody on December 11, 2023.

According to the Texas DPS, Rodriguez was working as a counselor in Laredo, Texas at a behavioral center when she first came into contact with the victim at a public school.

It's believed that a tip led to the arrest by the U.S. Marshals Service in Mexico along with Criminal Investigations Special Agents. Texas Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards to those whose information leads to an arrest of one of Texas' 10 Most Wanted Fugitives or Sex Offenders.
