It seems like I say this all the time: Everything is becoming so costly! The cost of everything appears to be rising.

Unfortunately, Dollar Tree is not exempt from these price hikes, and I predict that their proposed price rise will affect locations in Louisiana.

Do you recall a time when purchasing anything from Dollar Tree meant that it was all really $1, or very nearly so? Those were the good ole days...

You can no longer get anything at Dollar Tree for just a dollar. The $1.25 maximum price cap went into effect in 2019. At their stores, that is the lowest price you can find.

Next up are a few slightly more expensive products from your neighborhood Dollar Tree.

They first charged $3 for their goods, then $5.

What are Dollar Tree "Plus Items"?

They refer to these products as Dollar Tree Plus offerings. The goal is to "provide customers with even greater deals" by adding Dollar Tree Plus items to more than 5,000 locations nationwide.

In June 2024, Dollar Tree set a price ceiling of $5, but prices are currently rising once more.

When Is Dollar Tree Raising Prices?

Only a few days ago, Dollar Tree announced another price rise during their fourth-quarter earnings call. The CEO stated:

"This year, across 3,000 stores, we expect to expand our multi-price assortment by over 300 items at price points ranging from $1.50 to $7".

The lowest price at Dollar Trees will reportedly be $1.50 going forward, and the maximum price will now be $7 rather than $5.

The exact date on which the $7 items will begin to be available in stores is still unknown, and I was unable to get an official list of the retailers that will be receiving them.

However, given we have a good number of Dollar Tree Plus items available, I'm confident that at least some of our 149 Louisiana sites will receive them.
