Fr. Matthew Long, Pastor at Shreveport's St. Joseph's Catholic Church, talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the series of God, Sex and the Church talks being held monthly through October.

Fr. Long addresses the question, "Is the Church out of touch?", particularly with its own followers on matters of sex, birth control and other related issues. Long readily admits "(The Church) has not kept up with society," but quickly agrees that given the moral state of the world, "more churches should be out of touch." He continues, "Our whole premise is to reveal through our talks, that the Church is not only not out of touch, but is the only one really in touch with what's going on today. We solve society's ills, not by legislation, but by making them think, (leading to) a change of heart and change of mind."
