Of all the people that we needed a response from about the Will Smith and Chris Rock situation, I'm not sure that O.J. Simpson was it. And the internet seems to hilariously agree.

Will Smith and Chris Rock

By now, we're all very aware of what happened Sunday night at the Oscars. There's been plenty of stories about it, celebrities commenting on it, and even a reimagining of the situation as if Will Smith was from Lafayette.

To be honest, by now, we are probably a little tired of hearing about it. But this one we just couldn't pass up.

O.J. Simpson on Will Smith and Chris Rock situation

O.J. Simpson. The man that many still believe murdered his wife Nicole Brown Simpson along with Ron Goldman in June of 1994. His is the take that we needed on a man assaulting another man, not for physical aggression done to him or his loved ones, but words. O.J. Simpson.

Well...let's see what he had to say, shall we.

If you're unable to see the video, here's essentially what he said:

It was unfortunate, I think Will was wrong, look I understood the feeling. Now, in my life I’ve been through a lot of crap when I was raising two young kids, and every comedian in the country had an O.J. routine, don’t think I wouldn’t want to slap a couple of those guys but you gotta accept that it’s humor and I didn’t even think that it was all that egregious, I thought it was semi-unfunny joke...I know this, after what happened to me in Las Vegas, if I would have done that in front of a billion people watching around the world, they would have given me life without. I'm just saying. Hey, take care.

There's one glaring thing that stands out in O.J.'s take on the situation. "I understood the feeling."

Side note: his Twitter feed is sometimes riddled with gold. And he always starts his video the same way, "Hello Twitter World, it's yours truly."

Here's where the Twitter World comes in:

If you have the time, and want a good laugh, there are plenty of other hilarious responses to O.J.'s take via Twitter!
