Higher Education Enrollment Up

A number of area colleges and universities are reporting higher enrollment numbers. LSU-Shreveport is reporting a fall enrollment of more than 45-hundred students. That's an increase of a little over one-and-a-quarter percent from last fall. Bossier Parish Community College's fall enrollment has reached almost 71-hundred -- or a nine-and-a-third percent increase over last fall and the highest enrollment in the school's 44-year history. Down in Natchitoches, Northwestern State has an enrollment of almost 92-hundred and that includes an increase in first-time freshmen entering the university, despite an increase in admissions criteria.
