HAUGHTON, LA-  Haughton Police Officer Goes Viral Dancing for School Kids

With "Defund the Police," the negative national press, and the left turning on our police officers across the country, I don't know why anyone would want to be a police officer today.  But I'm very grateful that those that do.

Being a police officer usually means you see people at their worst moments.  The police are only called when a situation is bad.  But most officers are caring, hard-working men and women.  And we need as many of them as we can get.

We need more officers like Cody Lilly of the Haughton Police Department.  Officers with the hearts and attitudes of servants.  If you haven't seen the video of Cody unabashedly entertaining children on their first day of school... let me make your day.

I absolutely love Haughton and my PD. Todd Gibson allows me to do whatever comes to my mind. He allows me to be free and love on the youth which is my passion.

It isn’t about me. I had all kind of kids hanging out the bus windows to yell and wave at me. I got a chance to hug on some kids and hopefully make their first day a little better.

Every kid doesn’t love school, every kid isn’t the same, some kids have disabilities, some kids don’t have friends or are considered popular so for me to be able to atleast get their day started with a smile it’s all worth it. I’ll be the clown that everybody laughs at. I probably almost caused more accidents than prevented lol.
